PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR WRITING

Professional development on writing instruction and assessing student writing are available through the Writing Instruction System. Three courses are currently available.

  • Course 1: Instructional Writing Across the Curriculum
    This course was specifically designed around the instruction of writing and the involvement of content teachers in the writing process.

  • Course 2: Assessing Writing Skills in the 21st Century
    This course was specifically designed around the scoring rubrics and scoring applications and includes English/language arts on-demand sample student responses for scoring practice.

  • Course 3: Assessing Content Writing in the 21st Century
    This course was specifically designed as a teacher resource around the scoring rubrics and scoring applications and includes content area writing sample student responses for scoring practice.
