Personal Financial Literacy (PFL) Institute: Incorporating PFL Into Lessons for the Social Studies Classroom - K-5 Session This training session will focus on classroom experiences and strategies to assist teachers with ideas on incorporating clarifying objectives from the Economics and Personal Financial Literacy (PFL) strands into concept-based classroom lessons. The session will focus on developing meaningful and engaging lessons for classrooms K-12. During the workshop, participants will collaborate to incorporate strategies and ideas of the workshop into a concept-based lesson plan that can be used in the classroom. Read More Winter/Spring 2013 North Carolina Council on the Holocaust Teacher Workshops- Union County These one-day, multi-county workshops are offered at no charge for middle or high school teachers. Substitute pay will be provided. These sessions will feature: -Dr. Karl Schleunes, UNC-G historian and Holocaust scholar, and a Holocaust survivor. Possible speakers include: -Hank Brodt, a survivor of six concentration camps -Morris Glass, a survivor of the Auschwitz death camp -Manfred Katz, a slave laborer in two concentration camps -Zohara Boyd, a survivor who hid in "plain sight" during the Holocaust.
