Have you ever dreamed of writing stories for the students you teach? Can you imagine yourself as a published author of children’s literature? If you enjoy writing creatively for children and young adults, this seminar is designed with you in mind. Under the guidance of an experienced children’s author and a supportive community of your peers, we will explore the creative writing process from developing an idea to submitting your work for publication. Learn what it means to find your voice and begin sharing your stories and wisdom with tomorrow’s readers. Gain confidence by learning the basic tools of the trade while enhancing your writing skills, and take this new knowledge back to the classroom. There will be quiet time for writing and reading, peer sharing circles, and one-on-one mentoring. Together we will feast on the bounty of children’s literature currently published and learn creative ways to flavor our own writing. The time is right to write!.
