Brief Description: Do you find it challenging and stressful to adjust your teaching to fit the different learning styles in your classroom? Understanding your individual teaching style can help you teach more effectively and reduce your stress level. Explore the different types of teaching and learning styles. Investigate the ways in which differing skill levels, individual preferences, and learning challenges affect how learners learn and teachers teach. Through self-examination, learn more about your own personal teaching style, with all its strong points and weak spots. Increase your awareness of the needs of diverse learners, learn constructive options for resolving conflict, add to your bag of tricks for motivating students, and decrease the stress levels in and out of your classroom. Understanding how we best convey information and ideas to others can improve our confidence as teachers and move us closer to providing a positive and healthy learning environment for every student. “Registration begins September 29, 2009.”
