Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an interdisciplinary environmental education program designed for educators of ANY background. The hands-on activities facilitate the exploration of topics including communication, economics, energy and fuels, geology, government, history, recycling, transportation, watersheds, wildlife, and much more! Participants will learn about the materials through direct engagement in the PLT activities throughout the workshop.

This workshop in particular will help educators working with students in grades fifth through twelfth dig deep into forest investigations by using the PLT PreK-8 Guide and the newest secondary module, Focus on Forests. Participants should be prepared to spend the day learning, exploring, investigating, and recording their findings!

Differentiated instruction? Technology connections? Literature links? STEM? The PLT activity guide covers it all!!! The PreK-8 guide is correlated to the Common Core (math and ELA) as well as to the NC Essentail Standards (science and social studies). The Focus of Forests secondary module is correlated to high school Biology, Earth & Environmental, Civics & Economics, and 21st Century Geography. CEU renewal credits are available and this workshop qualifies for Criteria I or II in the EE Certification Program.
