Brief Description: This training session will focus on classroom experiences and strategies to assist teachers with ideas on incorporating clarifying objectives from the Economics and Personal Financial Literacy (PFL) strands into concept-based classroom lessons.
The session will focus on developing meaningful and engaging lessons for classrooms K-12. During the workshop, participants will collaborate to incorporate strategies and ideas of the workshop into a concept-based lesson plan that can be used in the classroom. These workshop sessions will feature training from DPI Social Studies consultants, classroom teachers and the NC Council on Economic Education. A certificate for contact hours will be available for all participants completing the sessions. Classroom resources will be provided. Each workshop is FREE to NC public and charter school teachers. Substitute pay will be provided. However, all other travel costs are the responsibility of the participant and their school/school district.
Middle & High School Session March 12 & 13. One full day March 12 (9-4) and a half day on March 13 (9-12). Registration deadline is March 6. Space is limited to 30 participants.
