Brief Description: Lenoir-Rhyne University of Hickory, NC is pleased to join with Kodály Educators of North Carolina (KONC) in announcing the fifth annual Carolina Kodály Institute (CKI) to be held this summer, July 14-26, 2013. We will again offer instruction in all three levels of certification in 2013.

The Kodály concept of music education is a singing-based pedagogy of developmentally and culturally appropriate music activities to develop music literacy. The attendees of the Carolina Kodály Institute have included elementary through college level music educators, with teaching experience ranging from new teachers to 30-year public school veterans. On-campus accommodations are available for those who live outside the Hickory area.

North Carolina teachers will earn 7.0 continuing education units. Teachers from other states will receive a certificate of 70 clock hours of professional development activity.
