E-BOOKS NOW AVAILABLE AT JUNIOR HIGHS AND HIGH SCHOOL

Junior high and high school student from McDowell are swiping through pages, thanks to a new e-book program at all three schools.Kids from East Junior, West Junior and McDowell High School can now check out e-books from their schools website using their student IDs. Each book can be kept for two weeks. After the two-week period, books are automatically returned, which helps get rid of pesky library fines.East McDowell Media Coordinator Vickie Blankenship and fellow media coordinators from West and the high school felt that it was time kids from McDowell had access to the new technology."We decided to look at e-books for the secondary level," Blankenship stated. "We just felt like that was the direction that things were headed. We see so many Kindles and Nooks around our schools, e-books just made sense."
