NO MORE BULLYING: ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAMS MAKE THEIR WAY INTO SCHOOLS

The entire student body, faculty and staff of Northview Middle School celebrated the launch of the Hickory Public School’s Bullying Prevention program Wednesday afternoon. “Bullying will not be acceptable or tolerated at Northview Middle School,” said Stephanie Dischiavi, principal. The hour-long presentation included entertainment from the Hickory High School Drumline, members of the Hickory High band, Northview Step Team and the Northview Hawk Singers in helping to bring the message home. “You are probably wondering what the high school drumline has to do with bullying,” Dischiavi said after the group performed. “Nothing at all.”

She then talked about how each member of the drumline, while an individual, has to bring their personal best in order for a performance to go well.

“We are celebrating our staff’s commitment to you,” she said. “Each member has been part of special training that began last year as a result of a survey some of you participated in last year.”
