BRUNSWICK COUNTY SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT NAMED BEST IN SOUTHEAST N.C.
Brunswick County Schools' superintendent has been named the best in Southeastern North Carolina. Superintendent Edward Pruden was named 2013-14 Southeast Regional Superintendent of the Year by the Southeast Regional Superintendents' Council, according to a Monday release from the school district. The council is made up of 14 superintendents from public school systems across the southeastern part of the state, all of whom vote in the Superintendent of the Year award. Pruden will now compete for the North Carolina Superintendent of the Year, announced in November. That award, part of the National Superintendent of the Year, judges superintendents on their leadership in learning, communication skills, professionalism and community involvement. Pruden has been superintendent in Brunswick County since July 2010.
