Members of the Future Farmers of America greeted U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack as he visited the Northeast Regional School of Biotechnology and Agriscience on Thursday.
It was a fitting choice as Vilsack, a former two-term governor of Iowa, talked to students and faculty of the science, technology, engineering and math school about agriculture’s national importance and its future.Following a tour of early college high school, the first in North Carolina to serve multiple school districts, Vilsack called it “a very innovative and creative educational opportunity.”
