Coastal Academy for Technology and Science (formally known as Cape Lookout Marine Science High School)
Cape Lookout believes everyone is a learner for life. Students become empowered by the ability to learn, to use information, to communicate, and to solve problems. Students attending the charter school will receive a strong foundation in basic education taught through the humanities, math, and marine science. Using the wider range of natural, scientific, cultural, and historical resources available in the county, the school will use marine, maritime, and natural resources to achieve an interdisciplinary curriculum presented in a way that is relevant to each student. Specialized support is provided for students preparing for marine sciences, marine-related technical or other careers that require post-secondary training. Graduates will leave school with the ability to think critically, search for solutions creatively and demonstrated those solutions clearly, and a positive work ethic.
