Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Education empowers individuals to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse global society. Students develop human literacy as they master a complex set of essential skills and knowledge needed to achieve quality of life. They gain career preparedness as they acquire readiness to participate in a rapidly changing workforce and global economy.
Family and Consumer Sciences students prepare for family life, work life, and careers in eight core areas:

FACS Education currently offers one middle school course and sixteen high school courses that comprise seven career pathways within six national career clusters.

Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Education is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated people to become middle and high school FACS teachers.
- High school graduates who want to earn a four-year degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education
- Adults who have a degree and/or work experience in a FACS-related career and want to become certified and teach in one of five areas---General Family and Consumer Sciences, Apparel Design, Child Development/Family Studies, Foods and Nutrition/Culinary Arts, or Interior Design/Housing
