HOSA: WHERE ONE PERSON'S PASSION BECOMES ANOTHER PERSON'S HERO
HOSA is a career and technical student organization of, by and for students who:
- Are or were enrolled in secondary, postsecondary/collegiate health science education classes
- Are interested, planning to pursue, or pursuing a career in the health professions
HOSA is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health sciences instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSTE-HOSA Partnership.
HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in HSTE programs. HOSA is 100 percent health care!
HOSA includes a Secondary Division for high school students in grades 9 through 12 who are interested in pursuing a health care career; a postsecondary/collegiate division for students who are not enrolled in high school, have received a high school diploma and/or are pursuing a GED and are enrolled in a health care related field at the undergraduate level; an alumni division for persons who have been a member of HOSA; and a professional division for persons who are associated with or participating in health science in professional capacities.
Chapters are organized locally (dues determined by chapter), regionally (dues determined by region), state ($5 annual dues required) and national ($10 annual dues required).
