Integrating Technology in the 6-12 Social Studies Classroom
Are you interested in the following types of technology software and hardware? Do you enjoy helping fellow educators as well as your students? Have you considered becoming a school and/or district-level leader in the integration of technology into the Social Studies classroom?
The NC DPI proudly announces its call for participants in its year-long professional development entitled Changing the Way Teachers Teach: Integrating Technology in the 6-12 Social Studies Classroom.
Topics will include:
- GeoCaching (GPS device) and Google Earth (GPS Technology)
- Internet Usage/Evaluation/Research
- Multimedia authoring programs (i.e. using Microsoft PowerPoint software, digital photography, video streaming, I-movies, etc.)
- Digital Communication (i.e. podcasting, blogging, wikis, and other on-line collaboration tools, teleconferencing, Digital pen pals)
- Formative assessment tools (i.e. e-instruction)
- Intel Teach Essentials training
