Creative Connections--Gds—2-12. Length--?, Fee--?.  Classroom Connections, part of Creative Connections, features the formation of "sister class" partnerships between 8-to-18-year-old students from the United States and countries around the world.

Global Nomads Group--Gds--?. Length--?, Fee--? GNG coordinates international video conferences. Sessions often have two parts: the first session connects students to students for discussion of the topic; the second session connects students with a guest speaker.

Global School House International Projects-- Gds—K-12. Length--?, Fee--?  The original clearinghouse for collaborative projects from across the globe.

iearn--Gds--?. Length--?, Fee--?  The International Education and Resource Network is the world's largest non-profit global network that enables teachers and young people to use the Internet and other new technologies to collaborate on projects.

IECC--Gds--?. Length--?, Fee--?  The International Email Classroom Connections is a free service to help teachers link with partners in other cultures and countries for email classroom pen-pal and other project exchanges.

Megaconference Jr
---Gds—1-12. Length--?, Fee—Free.  While connecting directly with other classrooms is not the primary purpose of Megaconference Jr, on the left, pick a year and look at the participants. There is often an Internet link to the schools.   This project is designed to give students in elementary and secondary schools around the world the opportunity to communicate, collaborate and contribute to each other's learning in real time. Presentations and activities focus on both academic and cultural issues. Participants will be able to address questions to other presenters.

People to People School and Classroom Program--Gds—K-12. Length--?, Fee--Free.    service that connects teachers and their students with classes in other countries for pen pal exchanges and projects that improve cultural understanding and encourage friendship.

Read Around the Planet--Gds--?. Length--?, Fee--?  TWICE provides a matching service for point-to-point videoconferences between schools based on registration information and provides support documents..  This is a celebration of NEA’s Read Across America. Classrooms connect with other classrooms “around the planet” and read to each other. Check the website to see the timeline of events and the registration deadliner. See the flyer.

Rotary International--Gds--?. Length--?, Fee--?  Contact your local Rotary Club and see if they can help you make international connections.

MAGPI--Gds--?. Length--?, Fee--?.  A nonprofit organization under the University of Pennsylvania umbrella that provides Internet2 connectivity to subscribers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. NC schools have Internet2 connectivity through MCNC/NCREN. Among its projects in 2006, MAGPI organized a special Constitution Day event! Together, students across time zones and state borders read the Constitution. MAGPI would like to plan international events. Events/projects may include a host of different collaborative technologies.

Videoconference Organization Seminars--Gds--?. Length—45-60 min, Fee--$185.  The sessions originate in Spain. They are offered in Spanish or English in the areas of History, Art & Literature, Culture, Language Courses, Sports, Sciences, and Music. There are also language practice sessions for students.

Carolina Center for the Study of the Middle East and Muslim Civilizations--Gds—K-12. Length--?, Fee--?  While this program has a K-12 outreach, no video conferences are listed. However, UNC has extensive IVC capabilities and it would be worth checking.

Carolina Navigators--Gds—K-12. Length-?-, Fee--?  The program provides cultural resources and interactive classroom presentations by Carolina students who have international expertise. While this program has a K-12 outreach, no video conferences are listed. However, UNC has extensive IVC capabilities and it would be worth checking.

Carolina Speakers--Gds--?. Length--?, Fee--?  You can schedule a knowledgeable speaker through Carolina Speakers, the University of North Carolina's speakers bureau. More than ninety faculty and staff, all at the leading edge of teaching and research in their disciplines, have volunteered addresses on more than one hundred and fifty topics, including forty-six that focus on North Carolina and the South.
