The North Carolina General Assembly has
allocated funds (PRC 29) to provide resources to help school
systems appropriately serve students with severe and complex
behavioral-emotional needs. These funds are above and beyond the
regular funding for Exceptional Children services and are allocated
through a grant process. The links below provide the grant
information and forms. The funds are allocated based on the
evaluation of the projects by the Behavioral Support Services
Section. The consultants help the school systems develop their
project request and provide oversight and technical assistance once
the funds are allocated.
