FUNDING APPLICATIONS

CAPACITY BUILDING & IMPROVEMENT GRANT (SLIVER)

PURPOSE OF PROGRAM

Allows states to use the excess of inflation in any year to be used for subgrants to local education agencies, state-operated programs, charter schools or Department of Corrections for Capacity Building and Improvement.


PROGRAM CHANGES

If the same plan is to be implemented for the 2000-2001 school year, the following data is needed:

  • Application
  • Restate Introduction (first item of page 2 only)
  • Budget Description
  • Signed Assurance


CHILREN SERVED

IDEA (Public Law 105-17) applies to all children with disabilities, ages birth through 21, who meet eligibility and receive approval for the 2000-2001 Fiscal Year.


APPLICATION PROCESS (IF APPLICABLE)

If the project is different (in any way) from the 1999-2000 OR if this is the first time a SLIVER Grant has been applied for, the following is needed:

  • Capacity Building and Improvement Cover Page
  • Introduction (statement of purpose)
  • Description
  • Needs Assessment
  • Project Description
  • Budget
  • Signed Assurances

Application can be submitted online.


AMOUNT OF FUNDS PER CHILD (IF APPLICABLE)

Allocations will differ based on the number of children in the headcount. No eligible agency will receive less than $1,000.
