State Department of Public Instruction Licensure in Audiology 4. Experience in working with exceptional children 5. Experience in working with a pediatric population |
| Reports To: | Exceptional Children Director |
| Supervises: | Speech/Language Specialists and/or volunteers during hearing screening programs |
| General Description: | The audiologist has the role of developing, supervising and coordinating a program of audiological services. The audiologist is directly responsible for the total program devised to provide services necessary for the identification, medical referral and educational follow up services for students with hearing loss. The audiologist serves as a consultant to administrators, teachers, speech/language pathologists, teachers of the deaf, other special education personnel and school nurses. The audiologist acts as liaison between speech/language pathologists, teachers of the deaf, Exceptional Children Director and between these personnel and state consultants. |
| Terms of Employment: | 10, 11 or 12 month contract with salary determined by State pay scale for Audiologists or by the Local Board of Education. |
| Evaluation: | Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on certified personnel. |
