NC TEACHER CORPS

The North Carolina Teacher Corps (NCTC) is a Race to the Top alternative certification initiative designed to recruit, select, develop, and retain potential lateral entry teachers who want to expand the educational opportunities of students across areas in NC that need them the most.

Target audiences include:
• Recent graduates of NC colleges and universities with degrees in areas other than education
• Mid-career professionals who have established success in other fields.

The first cohort of NCTC candidates (2012-2013) are currently serving in partner districts across the state of North Carolina. Recruitment for our second cohort of candidates has closed. We will post an updated recruitment schedule for our third cohort (2014-2015) in early September.
