NOTE :: Various file formats are used on this page that may require download. If larger than 1mb, it will take longer to download. For instructions or more information, please visit our download page.

Alternative certification allows for individuals who hold bachelor's degrees and who may be recent college graduates or may have established work experience in other fields to teach in the classroom while simultaneously earning a North Carolina teaching license. The NCTC is an alternative licensure program that partners with local school systems in North Carolina, universities in North Carolina, and Regional Alternative Licensing Centers in NC to provide support and professional development while the candidate is taking coursework towards licensure. Support and training are provided throughout the two years of the program to ensure the success of the candidate.
