NOTIFICATIONS TO EDUCATORS
In October 2013, the Department of Public Instruction and the SAS Institute released teacher-, school-, and district-level value-added data for the 2012-13 school year. Principals and teachers received emails to alert them to the release of the data.

Teachers received this email on October 28. Please note that only teachers with value-added data from the 2012-13 school year received this notification email.
From December 2013 - January 2014, the Department of Public Instruction and the SAS Institute released teacher and administrator evaluation dashboards for the 2012-13 school year. School administrators and teachers received emails to alert them to the release of the data.

How Can We Measure Growth When We Change Content Standards?
In the 2012-13 school year, North Carolina implemented new, more rigorous content standards in all content areas. The assessments administered in the 2012-13 school year were aligned to these content standards. Many educators want to know more about growth can be measured from one year to the next when there is a shift in the content standards. This resource provides more information on how growth is measured.
How Can We Measure Growth with New Tests?
This resource explains how value-added analysis is completed for assessments that have not been administered previously, including the NC Final Exams and many of the Career and Technical Education State Assessments.

Value-Added Analysis on Assessments from 2012-13
The Department of Public Instruction is strongly committed to the release of value-added data only when the assessment itself is fair, valid, and reliable, as well as when the analysis is fair, valid, and reliable. This resource details what type(s) of reporting will be available for the End-of-Course assessments, End-of-Grade assessments, NC Final Exams (formerly known as the Common Exams), and Career and Technical Education Assessments that were administered last year. In some cases, value-added analysis was not possible at all. In other cases, reporting is only available at certain levels, for example, only at the district-level and not at the teacher- or school-levels. The resource includes explanations in cases when a type of value-added reporting is not available.
