The E-rate program helps schools and libraries connect to the Internet and receive discounts on telecommunications services (Priority 1) and essential networking components (Priority 2). Created by the 1996 Telecommunications Act and signed into law by President Clinton, E-rate is one of the very last sources of federal funding for schools and libraries to maintain and expand their technology and connectivity needs.
Since the inception of the E-rate Program North Carolina applicants have utilized over $400,000,000.00 in total Priority 1 and Priority 2 requests.

FRN Database
E-rate Central has created an FRN Database that provides easy access into E-rate funding data by entity, since the first year of the program. In order to access the database, simply enter your Billed Entity Number (BEN) and it will show you summary information about your funding for each program year. Then simply click on the funding year, and their system will return a list of all FRNs for your entity. If you’d like even more granular information about a single FRN, simply click on the FRN number and it will show all information in the SLD’s Data Retrieval Tool pertaining to that FRN. The tool is updated weekly.
SLD Commitments Search Tool
You can use this tool to search for funding commitment information by Funding Year (FY), wave number, state, and/or applicant name.
