NEW SCHOOL

  • New School Number Request

    School Numbers will be assigned starting in November for the next school year. The form can be filled out online then printed for your superintendent to sign. Tab from field to field. The explanation lines are 85 characters long, at the end of each line tab to the next line to continue entering. Please allow approximately two weeks processing time. New numbers will be mailed to your superintendent in a confirmation letter.
    • Alternative schools and Cooperative Innovative High Schools should be submitted by a local board of education to the State Board of Education (SBE) and approved before submitting the New School Number Request form to DPI. For information on how to submit to the SBE, please contact Innovation & School Transformation 919.807.3200.
    • New Schools Project schools should have approval from the New Schools Project (NSP) and been given a cohort number before submitting the New School Number Request form to DPI. For information on how to submit to the NSP, please call 919.277.3760.
