DATE KNOWN ISSUES STATUS REFERENCE TIMELINE
Sep 30, 2013 Wake County reported no district-wide access to NCEES for most of the week between Sept. 23-27. Wake was the only district affected as it is the only one that has its own directory integrated with the Pearson's single sign-on solution. NCDPI, Pearson and Wake County worked together to resolve the issue by Monday morning, Sept. 30, but work on root-cause analysis continues. Access restored Sept. 30. Work continues on finding root cause.
Sep 20, 2013 Two LEAs (Sampson and Yadkin counties) reported that they were unable to log into Schoolnet and got a white screen when they attempted to log in between 1:30 and 3:45 p.m. This outage caused training to have to be rescheduled. NCDPI learned that Pearson experienced a lock-up of several web servers which caused the end-users to encounter the white screen. Pearson has now updated the configuration of the monitoring software to provide alerts in the future so that DPI may alert users when the system goes down. In addition, Pearson is diagnosing the root cause of the problem and will correct the issue as they find a solution. In the meantime, the Schoolnet web servers will be rebooted very early each morning until the software bug has been diagnosed and corrected. System is back online.
