Application for Migrant Education Program sub-grants are made through the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP). Trainings and refreshers are given annually to assist LEAs in the application process.

Budget Reminders for Migrant Education Programs
Given the decreasing amounts of funding for migrant programs, it is essential that we use our money in ways that most effectively serve migrant children and stay within Federal guidelines for expenditures.

As you work on your budget for the Migrant Education Program in your LEA, questions may arise about allowable expenditures under Federal grants. Please consult OMB Circular A-87, Cost Principles for State, Local, and Indian Tribal Governments for guidance. Refer especially to Attachment B, “Selected Items of Cost,” which discusses allowable and non-allowable expenses, and further explains the concept of “reasonableness” for personnel expenditures.
