PUBLIC SCHOOL CHOICE

Title I schools not meeting state proficiency target goals for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in the same subject for two or more years must offer parents the option of transferring their children to another public school. On this site are sample parent letters, a presentation, and other materials to help school and district administrators deal with the issue of public school choice as a result of No Child Left Behind requirements for Title I schools. More information on public school choice is available in the document, Public School Choice, Non-Regulatory Guidance, issued Jan. 14, 2009, by the US Department of Education.
