EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN DIVISION SCHEDULES PUBLIC HEARINGS

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction's Exceptional Children Division will hold three public hearings to receive comments on the Department's "Policies and Procedures Governing Programs and Services for Children with Disabilities" pursuant to Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).

The dates, times and locations are as follows:

April 12: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Auditorium, Catawba Valley Community College, Hickory
April 17: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Leslie Bldg., Room 143, Pitt Community College, Winterville
April 30: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Education Building, Room 150, Raleigh

The "Policies and Procedures Governing Programs and Services for Children with Disabilities" is available online at www.ncpublicschools.org/ec or by contacting the Exceptional Children Division at 919.807.3969. Comments on the proposed state policies and procedures will be accepted through May 1.
