PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE COMMENT ON
EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN POLICIES
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction's Exceptional Children Division will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 5:30-7 p.m., in Room 150 of the Education Building, 301 N. Wilmington Street, Raleigh. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive comment on proposed amendments to sections of "Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities" pursuant to Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).
Proposed amendments to the "Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities" are available for review online at www.ncpublicschools.org/ec by clicking on the appropriate link under Highlights, or by visiting the Exceptional Children Division at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Comments will be accepted from Dec. 8 – Jan. 11, 2010. Instructions for submitting comments are available at the same Web location as the proposed amendments.
There is no advanced registration required for citizens interested in attending and/or speaking at the public hearing. The meeting site is accessible to individuals with disabilities. Please be aware that staff will not discuss or comment on the proposed amendments.
