RACE TO THE TOP CONTRACT ALERT MULTIPLE AGENCIES
In accordance with the North Carolina Office of Economic Recovery & Investment policy regarding contracts utilizing Race to the Top (RttT) funding, the Purchasing & Contracts Section of the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) will be posting a "Notice of Intent" to award a contract to the Sandhills Region Education Service Consortium, the Southwest Education Alliance, the Southeast Education Alliance, the Western Region Service Alliance, the Piedmont Triad Education Consortium, the Northeast Region Education Service Alliance, the Northwest Education Service Alliance, and the Central Carolina Regional Education Service Alliance (RESAs) to plan, schedule and facilitate regional trainings on the new common core and essential standards. The LEA professional development trainers will meet at each RESA to be trained in specialized content areas during the years of 2012-13, 13-14. Each year a minimum of five training sessions will be held related to the common core and essential standards content areas. The RESAs will host regional meetings for professional development on teacher evaluation and incorporating student growth into the evaluation system. Each RESA will convene regional RttT feedback meetings on implementation of major RttT initiatives with LEA RttT senior leadership teams. A "Notice of Intent" for each award will be posted on the NC Department of Administration, Division of Purchase and Contract's Interactive Purchasing System (IPS) on Friday, June 10, 2011.
