STRATEGIC PLANNING & PERFORMANCE

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction's (DPI) Performance Navigator is a window into what we are doing to move the State toward achievement of the State Board of Education's (SBE) goals. The Navigator includes:

  • The State Board of Education's priority measures and targets. See Priority Measures.

Important Note: The Navigator is under revision to reflect changes in work at the agency.  We expect an update to the Navigator later this winter with a new but similar representation of the agency.

Performance Navigator Revisions and The Race to the Top

In August of 2010, North Carolina was awarded a Race to the Top grant that has provided resources to support key initiatives to improve student outcomes. As a result of the timing of this grant, DPI has updated the Navigator mid-year to reflect the developing plans enabled by winning this grant.

Note: The divisional pages use a color system to convey progress towards deliverables when appropriate. Green represents on track or complete, yellow represents slightly delayed and red represents significantly delayed. Divisional pages were updated mid-year to reflect new work being undertaken as part of the College and Career: Ready, Set, Go! initiative as outlined in North Carolina's Race to the Top application.
