  • Share best practices through using the electronic Local Planning System, using the data contained within to improve the achievement of performance standards.

  • Begin development of a course in Virtual and Physical Modeling to be taught as a strategy to strengthen Algebra I.

  • Provide staff development on mathematics strategies to CTE teachers attending Summer Conference and new teacher induction programs.

  • Support the continuing statewide Articulation Agreement with the community college system for a seamless transition of preparation and transfer of credit.

5 Planning and Performance Management: Provide leadership for Career and Technical Education in North Carolina by overseeing development and implementation of North Carolina's State Plan for Career and Technical Education, setting long-range plans for Career and Technical Education, and writing policies and regulations. 5.1
6 School Redesign: Support, endorse, and advance school redesign initiatives that help schools and local education agencies provide innovative and responsive programs to ensure that students graduate from high school globally competitive for work and postsecondary education and prepared for life in the 21st Century. 4.2
7 Partnerships and Collaboration: Develop and maintain partnerships and collaborative relationships with business and industry, other agencies, educational institutions, internal partners and others to support effective and comprehensive state and local Career and Technical Education programs. 4.3
