  • Provide technical assistance to LEAs in analyzing data and developing improvement strategies.
  • Deliver research based professional development and on-going support and coaching statewide in Professional Development including delivering key foundational literacy and math courses, leading Summer Institutes/Fall Conference,  and developing Autism Modules.

  • Monitor student progress with a focus on graduation rate, drop-out, IEP Transition Goals and Post-School Outcomes and recommend proven strategies to combat drop-out in exceptional population.

  • Provide web-based national recruiting tool to LEAs that  provides the capability for LEAs  to post vacancies and review candidates resumes.  Potential candidates can search for vacancies and post resumes. 
  • Develop model programs for recruitment into special education in collaboration with National Personnel Center.

All state complaints will be investigated with final reports mailed within the mandated 60 day timeline. 100% 91.67%
  • Analyze and evaluate complaint systemÕs implementation process determining opportunities to improve efficiency and adjust the system where necessary to provide better service and maintain compliance. 
  • Review and adjust responsibilities of Dispute Resolution Consultants  to align to goals.

Reduce the number of school systems who have a significant disproportion of minority students identified as intellectually disabled and serious emotionally disabled. 18 28
  • Provide professional development and on-going support and coaching statewide to increase and sustain LEAs implementation of systems of tiered support for academics and behavior (Responsiveness to instruction, Positive Behavior Support and Instructional Consultation Teams)
  • Track the use of 15% of IDEA Part B funds for the 28 LEAs who currently   have significant disproportionality.
