DIVISIONAL CORE ACTIVITIES

CORE ACTIVITIESSBE GOAL
1 The high five design process involves collaborative teams of teachers meeting face to face and online three times a year. These teacher teams are comprised of research, content, gui, and development experts. They align the NCSCOS with the SREB standards for teaching and learning. They also augment courses with Web 2.0 and 21st Century design elements. 1
2 GUI teams involve contractors to make the environments more in line with current gaming technologies. Student focus groups support this process with 360 degree feedback as to how they learn best. Improvement cycles flow back through the high five design process. 1
3 An aligned communications strategy among NCVPS/LEO, iSchool, and NCCCS takes place on a weekly basis so that accuracies, decisions, and training are in sync to the LEAs. 4
4 Integrated marketing involves making the process simple for LEA stakeholders in regards to LEO enrollment, support, and course delivery. All three groups mentioned in item three are coordinated via leadership on a weekly basis by the LEO coordinator who works for NCVPS/LEO. 4
5 Wimba product line has been purchased and teachers are being trained this summer of 2008 on how to integrate into their courses. 2
6 3D PD model has been designed and coaches and evaluators will begin looking in e-classrooms this fall with rubrics and reporting processes as to evidence of 21st century skills. 2
