Financial education is a must for all Americans. In 2009, the NC General Assembly validated this need by passing House Bill 1474. This legislative action requires that "each student shall receive personal financial literacy instruction that includes credit, managing a credit card, borrowing money for large purchases, and credit scores and reports."

The purpose of these pages is to provide teachers with resources and training to advance the understanding of personal finance in their classroom. It includes links to support documents created by DPI, videos of master teachers showcasing best practices, contact information for potential educational partners, free curriculum offerings, and online training modules for teachers.
