College Foundation, Inc. (CFI)
A
nonprofit that has offered financial assistance
for higher education since 1955. CFI partners with College Foundation of North
Carolina (CFNC), a college access service of the state of North Carolina. CFNC
has free on-line and printed resources. Representatives are available to promote
financial literacy and programs to help plan, apply, and pay for college.
Community
Reinvestment Association of NC
Promotes and protects community wealth.
CRA-NC provides financial literacy through the award winning Nuestro Barrio,
a telenovella that provides financial literacy through entertainment DVDs.
Department of Accounting and Finance, UNC - Greensboro
A
home to a faculty well
versed in financial literacy. In addition to providing graduate and
undergraduate degree programs, the department teaches a personal finance
course open to all
students to further personal financial literacy.
The
Credit College
An education advocacy organization whose main objective
is to provide individuals with a thorough understanding of consumer credit
and financial literacy, as a whole. The Credit College provides community
support
through a non-profit, Ivy House: Center for Self-Sufficiency, working
with families and disenfranchised members of the community. Educational curricula
and products
are offered through the multimedia brand, Consumer Credit 101.
ABC
Management, Inc.
Empowers and educates people to improve their financial
condition through hands-on financial literacy teaching and
training on
proper credit and cash management techniques from a relations banker's
perspective.
NC Department of the Secretary of State,
Securities Division
Administers North Carolina's securities laws, which
are located in Chapters 78A
and 78C of the
North Carolina General Statutes. The intent of these laws is to protect
the investing public by requiring a satisfactory investigation of
both the people
who offer
securities as investments and of the securities themselves. The Securities
Division also addresses investor complaints concerning securities
brokers and dealers,
investment advisers and commodity dealers as well as complaints about
offerings of particular investments.
NC State
Employees' Credit Union (SECU)
A
not-for-profit financial cooperative
providing services to North Carolina's state and public
school employees
and their immediate family members. SECU provides members with
lower-cost services
and more attractive rates on deposits and loans, as the Credit
Union is owned by its members, has no commissioned employees and is not
in business
for
profit, but for people. SECU conducts training in the public schools
using the NEFE High
School Financial Planning Program.
North Carolina
Association of Certified Public Accountants - Community Outreach
Provides financial literacy education to help North Carolinians
reduce debt and
build wealth that subsequently also helps to strengthen the
state's economic standing and financial future. It's a win-win for everyone.
RBC Bank
Provides educational
workshops designed for classroom instruction and the community
at-large on topics that promote
financial literacy

North Carolina Cooperative Extension's (NCCE) Family and Consumer Science (FCS)
The program
provides educational workshops to improve
the lives of
North Carolinians.
FCS agents provide age-appropriate financial education
to enhance financial decision-making. FCS agents conduct training
with
the public schools
and community groups using
