Farewell Greetings from 2004 NC Wachovia Principal of the Year

Farewell Greetings from 2004 NC Wachovia Principal of the Year - I like the following quote found in Toby Reynolds' book, “Happy Thoughts:” "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." North Carolina schools have accomplished much in recent years. Hard work and planning have certainly made a big difference, but also key have been your dreams and beliefs, your innovation and risk taking. You are not only making a difference in the lives of children today, but are shaping our future as well. I want to thank all of you for allowing me to represent you this past year. As I have visited schools and attended State Board meetings, I feel I have gained more than I have given. It has been stimulating to see the wonderful activities and programs being used in NC schools. Wonderful things are happening in the schools across our state. I am proud to be one of your peers. May you have a blessed close to the 2004-05 school year. -- John R. Black, 2004 NC Principal of the Year and Principal of Longview Elementary School, Hickory City Schools
