Future Ready Students for the 21st Century

The guiding mission of the North Carolina State Board of Education is that every public school student will graduate from high school globally competitive for work and postsecondary education and prepared for life in the 21st century. To that end, the North Carolina State Board of Education adopted policy to bring the infusion of 21st century skills to scale across the state. The following information captures the 21st century mandates that our students will acquire on their path to graduation.

Training and Professional Development will be provided to all districts across the state on the new standards. The intended purpose of the evaluation instruments is to assess performance in relation to the standards and to serve as a development model for individual growth.
