Purchase Orders

Public schools, public charter schools, public universities, state agencies and public libraries within North Carolina.

The state of North Carolina now requires our customers to submit purchase orders through the NC E-Procurement electronic purchasing system. If you have not already done so, we encourage you register with NC E-Procurement.

Purchase orders cannot be taken over the phone.

Purchase orders will be invoiced. In addition, the actual cost of shipping plus applicable sales tax will be added to the invoice. Actual shipping costs are based on UPS charges billed to the agency.

Pre-Paid Orders

All other orders must be pre-paid (individuals, private business, non-public schools and colleges, and all out of state orders.) Accepted pre-payment methods are by check, money order, and Visa or MasterCard. When making payment, please add 20% for shipping plus 6.75% sales tax inclusive with your order.

  • Over-the-Counter-Sales
    Publications may be purchased in person by coming to Publication Sales, Room B75-Basement of the Education Building, 301 North Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC. You may pay with a check, Visa/MasterCard, or with cash (we cannot make change, so please bring exact amount.) For large orders, email to: Publications@dpi.nc.gov three days in advance of pick-up.

  • Mail Orders
    If mailing your order, please send to: NCDPI Publications, 6307 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699. Please add 20% for shipping plus 6.75% sales tax inclusive with your order form.

  • Phone Orders
    Publication orders will be accepted over the phone from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Phone orders must be paid for with Visa or MasterCard. Please call 919.807.3470 or toll-free 800.663.1250 (inside North Carolina only).
