PUBLIC NOTICES 2012-13 :: OCTOBER 17, 2012

ARRA CONTRACT ALERT – eCOLLEGE.COM

In accordance with the North Carolina Office of Economic Recovery & Investment policy regarding procurements utilizing American Recovery & Re-Investment Act (ARRA) funding (specifically Race to the Top (RttT) funding), the Purchasing & Contracts Section of the NC Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI) will be posting a "Notice of Intent" to award a contract to eCollege.com (a Pearson company) for the purpose of incorporating a Learning Object Repository (LOR) for NC DPI from date of award through August 31, 2014. ARRA/RttT funding requirements allow NC DPI to partner with another State Agency that is operating a product to meet the requirements of a RttT objective (which includes incorporating an LOR). We will be partnering with NC Community College System (NCCCS) to amend their contract with eCollege.com, in order that we can also implement and utilize their LOR business solution they have with eCollege.com. The NCCCS LOR business solution meets the RttT requirements for our LOR business solution. A "Notice of Intent" for this award will be posted on the NC Department of Administration, Division of Purchase and Contract's Interactive Purchasing System (IPS) on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Questions resulting from this notice may be directed to Mike Beaver, Purchasing Agent III, Purchasing & Contracts Section, 919.807.3683; or michael.beaver@dpi.nc.gov
