The Advisory Commission on Raising Achievement
and Closing Gaps was appointed in the late summer of
2000. It was charged with preparing to advise the State
Board of Education, the State Superintendent, and local
school systems on ways to raise achievement for all students
and close the number of gaps that exist in student
achievement outcomes and student participation in the instructional process.
