

TPRI AND FLUENCY
TEXAS PRIMARY READING INVENTORY (TPRI)
The TPRI was developed by the University of Texas and is a valid and reliable assessment tool that provides a comprehensive picture of a student’s reading/language arts development. Designed to be used with students in Kindergarten, Grade 1,Grade 2, and Grade 3 the TPRI offers a balanced and reliable approach to reading instruction.
The TPRI covers ALL five of the domains of reading required to qualify for the President’s Reading First Program (under the No Child Left Behind Act).
mCLASS TPRI
North Carolina has chosen Wireless Generation as a vendor to implement TPRI. mCLASS TPRI is software used on a handheld device, such as a Palm. It allows teachers to:
- Save time by automating data aggregation & reporting
- Increase assessment accurac
- Identify the right instructional tactics for each child
Developed in partnership with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Center for Academic and Reading Skills at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and the Texas Institute for Measurement, Evaluation and Statistics at the University of Houston.
