The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has contacted the US Department of Education to request an extension of the Tydings Amendment for the Reading First grant. Questions about this may be addressed to Jackie Colbert at 919.807.3916 or jcolbert@dpi.state.nc.us. The request seeks an additional year for expenditure of funds for each of the 2008-09 and 2009-10 schools years.
