PARENTS

Parents are critical to their children's success. Their involvement in their student's education – at school and at home – shows their support of the teacher(s), principal and school.

The READY initiative helps in this support:

• School performance
• Informed decisions with data by district, county and state
• Testing
• Assessments to better understand student progress
• Student growth
• Standards to ensure that what the student is learning will serve him or her well, regardless of the path he or she follows
• The State Board of Education, Governor's office, the state legislature, the NCDPI, and the state's local superintendents fully support student success. North Carolina's receipt of federal Race to the Top monies has enabled us to speed up the development of newer, relevant technologies. Those, coupled with our continuing efforts to update our standards, assessments, and accountability methods, will empower us to prepare our students to thrive at college, in a career, and in adulthood. Together, we will elevate our students.

Accountability and Curriculum Reform Efforts (ACRE) For Parents
