Since 1984, Wachovia Bank has financially supported a program in collaboration with the Department of Public Instruction to recognize outstanding principals from the North Carolina public schools. Since the inception of the program, we have recognized 29 state Wachovia Principals of the Year, 186 regional award recipients, and 2,401 local Wachovia Principals of the Year.

2009 WACHOVIA PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR

Vann Pennell, Southeast Region Wachovia Principal of the Year and Principal at South Brunswick High School in the Brunswick County Schools is the 2009 Wachovia North Carolina Principal of the Year.
