

SAFE AND DRUG FREE SCHOOLS
MISSION :: The School Safety and Climate Section provides LEA's and Charters with technical support, resources and training necessary to establish and maintain safe, orderly, and caring school environments for students and school personnel.
In order to achieve this outcome, the School Safety and Climate Section will:
- work collaboratively with school personnel and others to provide support to students in need
- work with LEA's and Charters to develop a climate that is safe, nurturing and conducive to teaching and learning and,
- provide guidance and support to program development and instructional support.
The School Safety and Climate Section administers, coordinates, and recommends policy for improving quality and excellence of programs and activities that are designed to provide financial assistance for drug and violence prevention activities and activities that promote the health and well being of students in elementary and secondary schools.
The School Safety and Climate Section participates in interagency committees, groups, and partnerships related to drug and violence prevention, as well as, coordinating and collaborating with other agencies on issues related to safe and drug free school environments.
