SCHOOL LEADERS' MESSAGES 2017

Social Studies Professional Development Opportunity

Through a partnership with The Ashbrook Center at Ashland University, NCDPI’s K-12 Social Studies staff will host a professional development seminar in Marion on Saturday, Sept 30, from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Origins of the American Idea will help teachers gain a greater understanding of the ideas surrounding the founding of the American republic.

In order to attend, teachers will need to meet certain requirements outlined on the registration form. Teachers will receive 0.8 CEUs from the Ashbrook Center for attending. Upon completion of the Canvas course and submission of their Inquiry, teachers will receive another 1.2 CEUs.

Teachers willing to commit to attending the seminar, completing the Canvas course, and creating an Inquiry, may register by clicking on this link. Although there is no registration fee to attend, teachers will need to pay travel expenses. Lunch and a light breakfast will be provided.

If you have any questions, please contact NCDPI K-12 Social Studies Consultant Tom Daugherty or 919.807.3862.
