SBE Policy defining persistently dangerous schools
(pdf, 119kb)

Please note that a school is not labeled as Persistently Dangerous after one year. If a school is identified based on the data for one year, it will initiate an on-site visit and ongoing technical assistance by the Support Services Section of DPI's Federal Program Monitoring and Support Services Division. A school will only be labeled if the school meets the criteria for a second consecutive year and the State Board of Education receives enough evidence to support such a label.
