Superintendents Memos E-Mail Group

Good morning everyone!

I try at the beginning of each school year to send a reminder message regarding the purpose of the Superintendents Memos Email Group and serving as contact for this group. (Seems like I'm several weeks behind schedule!) This year the message is particularly important as we have a number of new superintendents who are serving as contacts for this group simply because their predecessor was the contact. With that said...

The Superintendents Memos e-mail group was originally established to provide a relatively secure way of sending attachments that staff could be assured were virus free. It morphed into a way for us to reach staff that we didn't have email lists for such as district school counselors, curriculum directors, etc. You will note that in these emails we always say who the attachment is from, what it references and who is to receive it. We asked at the time, and again every year, does the superintendent prefer to serve as contact for this group and thus receive the emails or would he/she prefer their administrative assistant to serve as contact? Although 95 percent of the email messages sent to this group (typically 2-3 emails a month) go to superintendents, the remaining must be forwarded to other staff at the district level.

With that said, please let me know who you would like to serve as contact for the Superintendents Memos email group -- superintendent or administrative assistant? I've attached my spreadsheet noting who is listed as my contact. If you are an administrative assistant currently serving as the contact for the email group, please speak with your superintendent and make sure they want you to continue to serve in this capacity.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me back. If I don't hear from you, I'm going to assume (and I REALLY hate doing that) that your current email contact is acceptable. Feel free to make edits to my attachment if any of the information is wrong. Thanks!
