TEACHERS' MESSAGES 2009

MESSAGES 2009 :: JUNE 12, 2009

JUNE 12, 2009 - Teachers' Biweekly Messages

Thank you for your dedication to students and to learning. The 2008-09 school year has been one of the most difficult because of our state and nation's financial difficulties. I would like to be in a position to assure you that 2009-10 will be better and that our difficulties are over, but I am not in a position to do that. Economic indicators continue to show that our state's situation is very tough. I do pledge to you that I will continue to explain the effects of deep cuts in education, to advocate for teachers and the important work you do and to keep you informed about the state's budget. Over the summer, please remember to check your email and to visit our Web site often: www.ncpublicschools.org.

Regards,
June Atkinson
